A Glimpse Into My Mind.....

Imagine if you will me sitting with a very ill friend. She isnt doing so good these days. Now imagine if you will me tired from a very busy shift at EMS. Did I say this county was small in a pervious post? I thought so. It's not the locals that cause the havoc it's the folks from Florida.
Ok back to the story. My friend has liver disease. Not from alcoholism or anything she done. Just is. It happens you know. Well I stumbled into her house and let her husband go to work. I laid across the bed next to her she was especially talkative. Which usually means her toxins are high from her liver.
Ok now imagine me half asleep listening to a medium tones female voice rattle ninety miles per hour about nothing because she is out of her head. I try to be patient and kind until exasperated. I answer every question she asks unless she cuts me off mid sentence to ask another one. It gets quite comical. The majority of the questions and talk centered around death and dying. I think I will share some of these questions and answers I gave.

Q.If I am dying where will I go once I die?
A. Well depends on if you have excepted Jesus as your(interruption with another question)

Q. What's it like to die?
A. I (interruption with another question)

Q. Reckon God knows I meant well?
A. I am sure (interruption with another question)

Q. I don't mean to be sick am I going to die?
A. Not today you aren't

Q. I am not ready to go yet. You think I will know when I am going to die?
A. Not sure but I reckon you(interruption with another question)

So imagine if you will those same questions being asked around 50 times each. I finally started petting her on the head and saying relax, take deep breaths, just try to rest, oh it's going to be OK . Try to relax girl just lay there and rest try to zone. ZONE she screams. I said yes what I tend to do when you talk to much I go to the Zone and tone you out. IT was quite comical. I finally did such a wonderful job toning her out I fell fast asleep. See being a mother to boys has prepared me with the ability to zone and tone.

You are a very strong lady. To be able to sit (or lay in your case) with a friend like that and still retain a sense of humor. I admire you.
